About Quercus Alternative Provision

Supporting primary-aged children to overcome barriers, rebuild confidence and rediscover a love of learning.

OUR STORY

Why We Founded Quercus

We founded Quercus Alternative Provision after decades of experience supporting children in Buckinghamshire schools.

Throughout our careers, we saw first-hand the challenges faced by children who struggled to engage with mainstream education, as well as the difficulties schools and families encountered when seeking the right support.

We created Quercus to provide a nurturing, personalised environment where children feel understood, valued and capable of success. Through strong relationships, creative learning and a focus on wellbeing, we help children rebuild confidence, overcome barriers and rediscover a love of learning.

LEADERSHIP & EXPERIENCE

Experienced Educational Leaders

Qualified Teachers • School Leaders • Early Years Specialists

With over 40 years of combined experience in Buckinghamshire schools, we bring extensive knowledge of education, leadership and child development.

Our careers have included roles such as Headteacher, Deputy Headteacher, Assistant Headteacher and Head of Early Years. Through these experiences, we have developed a strong understanding of the needs of children who require additional support to engage with learning and achieve success.

At Quercus, we use this experience to provide a nurturing, personalised environment where children can build confidence, overcome barriers and flourish both academically and emotionally.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Learning Beyond the Classroom

We believe some of the most powerful learning happens beyond the traditional classroom.

Through outdoor learning, creative experiences and practical activities, children are encouraged to explore, discover and grow in confidence. These opportunities help develop resilience, improve wellbeing and create positive connections with learning.

By providing a calm and nurturing environment, we support children to rediscover their strengths, overcome barriers and flourish both academically and emotionally.

WHY QUERCUS

Meeting a Growing Need

Many primary-aged children require an educational environment that looks different from mainstream school. Anxiety, social, emotional and behavioural needs, trauma or other challenges can prevent children from accessing learning successfully.

Quercus exists to remove those barriers through creativity, nurture and personalised support.
